Product Description

30 - 80mm High Carbon Low Moisture Metallurgical Coke for Casting

The bituminous coal is heated to 950-1050°C under the condition of isolating air, and finally becomes coke after drying, pyrolysis, melting, bonding, solidification, and shrinking. This process is called high-temperature coking (high-temperature dry distillation). The coke obtained from high-temperature coking is used for blast furnace smelting, casting and gasification. The recovered and purified coke oven gas produced in the coking process is not only a high calorific value fuel, but also an important organic synthesis industrial raw material.

Coke is mainly used for blast furnace iron smelting and blast furnace smelting for copper, lead, zinc, titanium, antimony, mercury and other non-ferrous metals. It acts as a reducing agent, heating agent and material column skeleton. The use of coke instead of charcoal in iron-making blast furnaces laid the foundation for the large-scale modern blast furnace and was a major milestone in the history of metallurgy. In order to achieve better technical and economic indicators for blast furnace operation, smelting coke (metallurgical coke) must have appropriate chemical and physical properties, including thermal properties during the smelting process. In addition to large amounts of coke used in ironmaking and non-ferrous metal smelting (metallurgical coke), it is also used in foundry, chemical industry, calcium carbide and ferroalloys, and its quality requirements are different. For example, coke for foundry generally requires large particle size, low porosity, high fixed carbon and low sulfur content; coke for chemical gasification does not have strict requirements on strength, but requires good reactivity and high ash melting point; requirements for coke for calcium carbide production Try to increase the fixed carbon content.
